Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the role predominantly focuses on the control and maintenance of the General and Purchase Ledgers together with providing input to the preparation of monthly management accounts and a range of relevant financial reporting. In addition to these key areas, a daily involvement in general administrative and secretarial duties will be expected.

Experience within a financial office environment is much preferred and a personal willingness to succeed and adapt to changing circumstances is equally as important.

Candidates should be capable of demonstrating the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • High standard of numeracy, accuracy and consistency
  • PC literacy and proficiency with the use of MS Excel and Word
  • Familiarity of accounting to Trial Balance
  • Awareness and working experience of statutory declarations (VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales) is advantageous
  • Effective communicator internally and externally to the organisation
  • Participation as a 'Team' player and not solely as an individual
  • Confident with using and applying their own initiative
  • Capable of organising and prioritising workloads to meet company deadlines
  • Flexible and proactive approach to working and learning
  • Reliable, dependable and conscientious

The role may suit a part-qualified accountant and / or experienced ledger controller looking for variety and development in an active, 'hands-on' commercial environment.

The hours of work will be 08:30hrs-17:30hrs Monday-Friday with the option of a 13:00hrs finish once a month.
