Job overview:

Are you looking for a role that can not only challenge your current skills set but can add depth to your existing knowledge?

Are you interested in working for and organisation that is proud to be the UK's leading Homeware Retailer and is passionate about their people and values?

The Dunelm Commercial Finance team supports decision making across the business every day and this role forms part of the key senior management team, with full ownership and responsibility for team leadership, financial planning and corporate reporting.

The key stakeholders to this role include the CEO, Finance Director, CIO, People Director and the rest of the Exec - meaning it's very high profile! You will be paramount in leading the continued development of robust forecasting and planning processes in an increasingly complex business, own the month-end management accounts preparation, and ensure the provision of robust and insightful MI.

Over the last 2 years, the Commercial Finance team has made significant inroads to the team's vision of becoming a world class team. Significant investments in People and MI systems have supported this. Month-end and forecasting processes are streamlined, MI is increasingly automated, relationships have been built with stakeholders. The Exec Board is hugely supportive of the team and its contribution, so you would be joining at a really exciting and crucial time!

The role:

A commercially focused accountant with a strong technical background and effective communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential. Detailed knowledge of management accounting, forecasting and MI is a must. You will be a team player and effective leader, capable of influencing colleagues, and inspiring their own team and colleagues across the business.

This is a high profile role within the Finance function and the wider business so it is critical that candidates can demonstrate a track record of quickly building strong and successful relationships at all levels of the organisation both within and outside of finance.

The individual should be highly motivated and have a strong desire to pursue own personal development and progress within the organisation. A passion for personally delivering excellent results is a must.

The following skills and experience are also required:

• Proven track record in bringing tangible benefits to a growing business

• Effective communication skills with the ability to challenge and influence throughout the business

• Customer focused

• Adaptable and team-orientated

• Highly motivated with the ability to use own initiative to overcome challenges

• Ability to streamline processes and eliminate waste

Due to the level of knowledge required for this vacancy, we are only looking to consider candidates who are 4-5 years post qualification, in either CIMA or ACA.
