My client, a fascinating business in the West Malling area, is seeking to recruit a Finance Operations Team Leader on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. This role will see you as a core member of the Finance Department overseeing a small team, processing both Sales and Purchase Ledger.

The team is responsible for ensuring the smooth and accurate running of all accounting functions, including but not limited to;

· Sales Ledger
· Purchase Ledger
· Credit Control
· Banking
· Petty Cash
· VAT Returns

This role forms a critical link between the different divisions of the business and will be required to build a strong understanding of business and its processes.

You will be required to identify and resolve process issues and escalate any challenges so that the team can continuously improve workflows and operate efficiently.

Given the nature of the business and the different areas its divisions operate in, a strong understanding of VAT reporting and returns would be highly advantageous to this position

Required Experience:

· 3+ years experience in a similar role, mentoring and training junior team members
· Experience in a divisional company
· Knowledge of UK VAT rules relating to a diverse range of activities
· Proficient in Excel


· Either a qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with good technical and operational knowledge; or an experienced operational team leader with strong financial skills

This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract for an excellent national employer, with an attractive completion bonus for the successful candidate.
