The successful candidate will be responsible for utilising their extensive breadth of technical and commercial accountancy, tax and business expertise to provide a first rate and proactive service to their clients, assisting them in growing their business.

The role will involve a mix of management of outsourcing work, management accounts and year end compliance work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

·Taking responsibility of their own client portfolio, including engagement letter preparation, performing initial and regular money laundering checks and initial client set up

·Carrying out business development activity and aim to bring in new profitable business to the firm annually, actively seeking new business opportunities in your area for the Firm - across all service lines with new and existing clients.

·Working with and promote other service lines across JC where appropriate to ensure we are operating as "one firm"

·Communicating with specialist staff and with other BA Partners/Directors/Managers and staff to ensure a seamless and coordinated service

·Identifying and dealing with assignment and commercial risk, notifying immediately any potential PI issue arising from a client or other relationship (also notifying the business line quarterly of any risk register events)

·Obtaining an understanding of the services required by the client and deliver these on a timely and effective basis to the client's satisfaction. Recognise your own limitations and involve specialist colleagues when you become aware of potential risks or opportunities affecting your client

·Set up, attendance and follow up of client meetings.

·Understanding, calculating and monitoring the client's key performance indicators. Providing meaningful discussions with clients on the performance of their business and seek areas of improvement.

·Maintaining regular contact with your clients so you understand the client's strategy, challenges and opportunities

·Planning and monitoring of fieldwork

·Completion, review and sign off of year end files

·Completion, review and sign off of periodic VAT and Management accounts files.

·Completing the work (own work and team's work) profitably and on time and dealing effectively with scope changes to the work.

You will be a qualified CA or have a suitable equivalent qualification.You will also have good organisational skills and be pro-active in your approach to your work. You should have a commitment to the very highest levels of client service and a genuine interest in being responsive to client needs and objectives.

You will have an ability to build enduring relationships and to articulate accounting/tax matters to non-professionals in a clear and understandable way but also an ability to liaise effectively with professional third parties in more complex terms.
