Job Title - Claims Executive / Team Leader

Administer clients' claims in accordance with the relevant Company and/or Group policies to achieve targets, develop the business and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service. The job holder will have significant contacts with clients/third parties and may be required to conduct some of their transactions face to face.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Develop strong relationships with clients
  • Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers and third parties
  • Deal with client claims and settlements
  • Accompany other members of staff on client visits as appropriate
  • Behave with all clients (both internal and external) fairly and ethically

  • Develop strong relationships with markets
  • Negotiate with markets to achieve the best outcome for the client
  • Maintain any ongoing delegated authority contracts appropriately and cost effectively

  • Create comprehensive claims documents
  • Ensure up to date records are maintained at all times on the Company systems

Skills and abilities needed to perform role
  • A solid grasp of the Companies policies and procedures has developed.
  • Confident and able to produce a strong first impression.
  • Attention to detail with ability to produce accurate documentation
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Prioritisation and organisational skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Self motivated
  • Competent IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
  • Able to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training, as required by the industry regulator
  • Willingness to study for professional examinations

Knowledge and Experience
  • Preference will be given to job holders who have previous experience of working in a team or customer focused environment
  • Familiar within both the Lloyds and company markets
  • Basic technical knowledge of FCA regulations as they pertain to insurance intermediaries
  • Understanding of processes and procedures within the insurance market and the impact this has on the claims process

Professional Qualifications
  • A level Grade A-C (or equivalent)
  • Progression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired, but not essential

Team Leader
  • Manage the performance of the allocated team
  • Ensure high standards of quality and service
  • Keep broking teams fully informed at all times
  • Undertake reporting responsibilities and report back to management
  • Train junior members of the team
  • Lead by example
