Are you a Teaching assistant that has experience working with children aged 4-12 that have special educational needs? Do you feel confident about working with children with SEN and making their educational experience more comfortable and enjoyable? Then we have the job for you!

One of our partnership schools in Greenwich is looking for a teaching assistant that is confident in working with children that have behavioural and emotional difficulties. The school puts the children at the heart of every decision that they make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities provided are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Providing high quality childcare
  • Safeguarding children
  • Having a positive and creative approach to behaviour and building the child's confidence
  • Keeping the child focused and engaged in their learning using different tools and methods
  • Building a strong relationship with the class teacher that allows you to communicate effectively with each other and the children
  • To support children across all areas of learning with a variety of needs while also allowing them independence
  • Liaising with the relevant class teachers and SENCO when required

Preferred Skills:
  • Previous experience working with SEN children
  • Understanding of Safeguarding
  • Understanding of OFSTED rates and requirements
  • Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
  • Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to complete a new DBS application
  • A basic understanding of Speech & Language and/or Intervention
