As UK Inspection Manager you will play key role in ensuring systems and people perform their function effectively whilst providing a balance between cost-effectiveness and quality control. As UK Inspection Manager, you will develop efficient local strategies to ensure the department meets the financial commitments in terms of revenue and profit at minimal costs without compromising quality or safety. You will drive continuous improvement and optimisation of all processes and oversee all daily operations of the inspection function ensuring policies and procedures are followed. As UK Inspection Manager you will provide leadership for the successful day-to-day work carried out in the department and will harness a working environment which encourages team work, accountability and an engaged workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • ensuring Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times within the facility
  • ensuring Environmental standards are adhered to at all times within the facility
  • to ensure that all customer supplied goods are processed in accordance with the appropriate Local and Standard Operating Procedures and Industry Standards
  • ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
  • liaising with existing and potential customers to provide relevant information, updates, and quotations, as required
  • addressing customer queries in a timely manner
  • ensuring, through use of preventive and reactive maintenance systems, that equipment is maintained at appropriate levels in order to maximize production capacity and efficiency
  • raising of PO's and contacting suppliers with purchasing requirements
  • meeting budget and reporting requirements for monthly figures and forecasts
  • reporting of department metrics as required by local and corporate Quality departments
  • handling of personnel issues including Grievance and Conduct and Capability
  • recruitment of both permanent and temporary staff
  • scheduling of orders to optimize the available time, equipment, and personnel to meet Customers' demands
  • keeping UK Country Manager advised of requirements and potential problems


Qualifications:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • experience in leading/managing team efforts
  • creating an environment of trust and interaction amongst personnel
  • working knowledge and understanding of inspection and NDT/NDE processes
  • working knowledge of industry standards and specifications such as NS-2, DS-1, and API specifications relating to OCTG and drilling equipment
  • solid recognition of the importance of Quality and HSE
  • good problem-solving skills
  • understanding of and ability to process corrective actions
  • unambiguous and professional communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • planning and execution
  • able to work upstream as well as downstream within the organization

Training
  • participate in training requirements as identified by the Company
  • advise on any personal training needs to fulfil job responsibilities or meet foreseen needs
  • participate in "on the job training" of others nominated by the company
  • all employees, once established in their role, shall assist the company in training others to provide absence cover for their duties
  • assist the company in succession planning and training of personnel in the event of your leaving the role


Health, Safety and Environment
  • review and comply with the HSE Policy
  • comply with local HSE site rules including Safe Working Practices, PPE requirements, and the STOP system
  • demonstrate awareness and understanding of your personal responsibilities for HSE matters
  • advise the company on any issues that may compromise HSE (Dragon card system and incident reporting)
  • ensure that environmental policy arrangements are complied with including: waste management / recycling / energy conservation
  • conduct incident investigations when necessary (near hit, incident occurrence) in your department
  • conduct HSE inspections that are required of your post and participate in HSE audits
  • ensure all relevant HSE training is undertaken by employees you are responsible for in line with their job role
  • ensure all employees are competent and capable to carry out their jobs in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • ensure at least one HSE representative is appointed in your department ensure all HSE matters are dealt with as quickly and practically as possible, and seek guidance from the HSE department when necessary
