Job Description Summary
ETS Networks are responsible for the availability, development and change delivery for Lloyds Banking Group's network. This comprises over 15,000 network devices, and provides the backbone of IT infrastructure used by all colleagues and customers of the group, with an estimated number of internal end user connections approaching 400,000. In terms of critical service, it has long been, and will remain vital to the organisation as a whole.
This vacancy is an opportunity to join a team with a focus on Data Centre Network & Cloud Infrastructure within Copley, Pudsey, Peterborough and our new flagship Horizon Centre. The role will be based in our Copley location on the outskirts of Halifax
Strong technical competence is vital to the role along with organisational, stakeholder and supplier management skills in order to maintain the high demands of our customer base in terms of availability and change delivery.
High volume and fast paced change coupled with a target of zero outages within a constantly changing and evolving platform is the day to day demands of this team.

Enterprise Technology Services Networks are responsible for the availability, development and change delivery for Lloyds Banking Group's network. This comprises over 15,000 network devices and provides the backbone of IT infrastructure used by all colleagues and customers of the group, with an estimated number of internal end user connections approaching 400,000. In terms of critical service, it has long been and will remain, vital to the organisation as a whole.

This is an exciting role, presenting you with the opportunity to join a team with a focus on Data Centre Network & Cloud Infrastructure, within Copley, Pudsey, Peterborough and our new flagship Horizon Centre. Working within a wider, supportive team, you'll look after, develop and deliver our network services and support various network changes, as and when they are required.

In addition you'll:
  • Provide advice on technical services and projects that meet business requirements and recommend technically sound, appropriate and cost effective deliverables
  • Work closely with the value streams and the groups design/architect teams to identify and agree, strategically and policy aligned designs, that meet business requirements.
  • Identify and quantify cost and benefits of technical deliverables.
  • Support for and be the technical assurance of changes, either within the actual implementation or as part of the planning cycle.
  • Manage escalations and prioritise for technical deliverables.
  • Take responsibility for and provide technical services that will ensure the continued high availability of the Data Centre & Cloud platforms or External Services.
  • Assist in the diagnosis, resolution and root cause analysis of issues by providing technical support. This includes driving and owning these activities, as required.
  • Take ownership for problems and deliver the agreed actions within agreed time scales.
  • Deliver effective management of technical risks to ensure prevention of business issues.
  • To interface with the Security & Design community to ensure solutions that are delivered provide a stable, cost effective service.


What can you bring to this role?

You'll demonstrate strong technical competence and strong organisational, stakeholder and supplier management skills, in order to maintain the high demands of our customer base, in terms of availability and change delivery. This role will encounter high volume and fast paced change, coupled with a target of zero outages, within a constantly changing and evolving platform as part of the day to day demands of this team. You'll also bring:

• A broad knowledge of Network and Cloud infrastructure technologies.

• A broad knowledge of Data Networking and or Network Security Services (Cisco Network Devices and Cisco/Checkpoint Security devices (i.e. Firewalls)

• A broad knowledge of technical Network infrastructure technologies. This includes providing support to peers/colleagues and driving through the technical approach in the team

• Proven track record of managing stakeholders in a way that enables the business to gain maximum value

• Proven ability to manage service issues and identify root cause

• Proven track record of leading external service suppliers in the provision of Data Network or Network Security solutions.

• Proven ability in demonstrating judgement and decision making

• Experience leading technology projects to deliver against business requirements

• Experience leading change activities, both in planning and implementation phases
