The Engineering Manager is responsible for facilitating the development of an engineering team at the Winnersh site dedicated to the support of the manufacturing of CME sub-assemblies and lead the outsourcing of these electro-mechanical sub-assemblies.
It is a operational and strategic role responsible for establishing and executing the technical focus (Ops Engineering) of the organisation in order to achieve high quality products, reduce cost and maintain/improve patient safety on BD products

Responsibilities include:

• Development/ leadership of the Engineering team to support/ execute the organizational strategy.
• Project management and development of high value-added practices, processes and implement functional strategies
• Ensure appropriate technical support (Mech/Elec) of existing and new products to implement the platform portfolio roadmap.
• Ensure effective manufacturing support on existing and new products with respect to safety, quality, cost, delivery and people targets.
• Has accountability for managing resources and delivering critical milestones to budget and time.

The role is required to facilitate the development of an engineering team at Winnersh dedicated to the support of the manufacture of CME sus-assemblies and lead the outsourcing these electr-mechanical sub-assemblies.

·Provide project technical support and leadership to ensure the engineering team execute major transitions /projects on time and to budget

·Provide support and encouragement such that members of the engineering team grow and develop within a broad context through an active programme of regular personal and team reviews

·To monitor and review ongoing work to ensure targets/ milestones are met.

·To sponsor projects, and act as subject matter expert, to support engineering change including generation of engineering controlled documentation, robust validation & verification activities and maintenance of quality records.

·Lead or provide technical support in resolving to root cause, through the logical analysis, the application of hypotheses and knowledge of cause and effect, technical failures and complex problems, situations or issues in conjunction with other relevant departments.

·Collaborate with all relevant parties to ensure that wherever possible all technical aspects of existing and proposed products and services meet or exceed a diverse range of criteria from quality, cost, manufacturability and robustness to the regulatory approval requirements of all customer countries

·Track internal trends and suggests process improvements based on observations

·Questions current methods while evaluating broad implications, to develop practical improvements; focuses on achieving goals rather than a fear of failure

·Approach issues from multiple perspectives and collaborates with internal/external customers in generating relatively advanced, creative, effective and practical solutions to meet key business drivers.

·Support the ongoing compliance with all regulatory and quality system requirements, including risk management procedures and quality systems audits.
