Project Manager Northampton £ Excellent + generous benefits Our client is part of an established Group that specialise in the provision of bespoke materials handling solutions to a diverse range of customers and industry sectors worldwide. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager to complement their established and professional project engineering team. Based near Northampton, reporting to the General Manager and responsible for overseeing all aspects of conveyor projects including controls overview, third party supply, documentation and coordination within the company's production and installations teams, the successful candidate will operate on a cross departmental basis to ensure that all teams are aligned with project plans, and have an overview of all aspects of project design, programming and the execution of project controls. Following project handover meetings, you will formulate clear project plans with achievable milestones and produce project schedules that will allow accurate monitoring and ensure that projects are on track by coordinating activities and resolving any issues as they may arise. Liaising extensively with both customers and third parties as well as internal teams, you will review bids from contractors to establish the most cost-effective solutions and control project costs, approve expenditure and administer contractor contracts to ensure that all costs are captured and projects delivered on time and within budget. Other responsibilities will include coordinating the activities of the project engineering team and preparing project status reports by collating, analysing and summarising information as well as identifying any recommendations and ensuring that all supporting paperwork is completed (for circuit drawings, CE documentation). You will conduct any testing and troubleshooting as required and undertake regular site visits whilst projects are in their installation stages, whilst working closely with the Engineering Department to ensure conformance to applicable legislation and standards. To be considered for this varied and challenging project manager role, it is essential that the successful candidate demonstrates previous experience and success in a similar Project manager capacity along with exceptional communication skills at all levels and a flexible approach to travel, as the role necessitates visits to customer sites and working away from home to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction. A full UK driving licence is therefore also essential for the position. You will essentially possess experience of using AutoCad (or a similar CAD design system) and producing technical documentation, and an organised and methodical manner of working in order to pick up and change between multiple projects as determined by schedule changes and business priorities. You will be proficient with the MS suite of packages with both supervisory and PLC controls experience proving distinctly advantageous.
