24 Acoustics Ltd is an engineering consultancy specialising in acoustics, noise and vibration. We are based in Southampton with a satellite London office and undertake projects throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Our work is interesting and diverse and includes work across many sectors, including minerals and waste, architectural design (schools, studios, auditoria, leisure facilities and commercial premises), industry (including manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas and power generation) and renewable power.

We are seeking to appoint a meticulously organised and experienced financial controller and office manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operation of the business and the office. S/he will be capable of the following:
  • Management of all day to day finance functions including accounting processes, monthly billing, supplier payments, VAT returns and debt collection;

  • Manage/produce regular management and financial reports including cash flow, forecasting, budgets, quarterly accounts and annual statutory accounts (in conjunction with external accountant);

  • Management of the company premises to include management of suppliers, insurers, lease vehicles, management of staff expenses;

  • Management of staff health and safety questionnaires and vendor approval documents;

  • Line management responsibility for a part-time administrative assistant, part-time legal projects secretary and office cleaner;

  • Take incoming phone-calls when others are unavailable.

First and foremost you will be a highly effective administrator. You will look after all aspects of our office environment, manage our suppliers and the part-time admin team. You will also need some financial management experience as described above.

Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 09:00- 17:00/ 17:30 with 30 mins/ 1 hr for lunch).

We provide a relaxed, non-corporate working environment and in a pleasant newly refurbished office building close to The Common in Southampton.

Qualifications and Experience

·5 GCSE (or equivalent) grades A-C, to include English and Mathematics or equivalent;

·Minimum 3 years continuous experience in a small to medium sized professional services practice or similar;

·To be IT literate, with a excellent working knowledge of Word and Excel;

·Working knowledge of an accountancy package such as Xero or Sage (Xero preferred);

·Confident and effective communicator;
