R&D Project Engineer - Audio Electronics / Music Technology
Audio Electronics / Music Technology / Pro Audio
Northampton
£25-30K + benefits

This is a newly created role as part of the audio R&D team at a busy and growing music technology company. Really well suited to someone who has studied music technology (or similar) and has a bit of experience behind them in an R&D, product design or engineering environment. If you've already worked in music tech or audio electronics you'll jump straight to the top of my list.

As the R&D Project Engineer you'll work closely with the whole R&D team, to coordinate activity, share best practice and streamline the product development process. It's therefore a role where you need good technical understanding of audio electronics / music technology products, as well as excellent communication and organisation skills.

As well as a friendly and skilled team, this position also offers you loads of variety; you could be contacting manufacturers and suppliers to discuss processes, populating and analysing pricing spreadsheets, sourcing components, carrying out product tests or creating technical documentation. You'll also keep the Head of R&D up to date on all product progress and coordinate the new product introduction (NPI) activity so you need to be a good communicator with strong organisational skills too.

The Person:

-An understanding of music technology or audio electronics products
-Experience in an R&D, product development or engineering environment
-Comfortable and confident communicating with external suppliers as well as team mates
-Strong literacy, numeracy and analytical skills
-Proactive, motivated and able to use own initiative

The Role:

-Coordinating R&D and NPI activity and reporting progress to the wider team
-Sourcing components and liaising with manufacturers
-Assessing workflows and development processes to find efficiencies
-Analysing R&D costs and data
-Creating technical documentation and providing written reports

If this R&D Project Engineer role sounds like you, please apply and I will contact you with further details. If this isn't the right role for you but you are interested in working in audio or music, please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or Twitter at NoiseyTess.
