A 1st Line IT Support Specialist is required by a successful Retailer in their head office in Amersham. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will join a small IT team, following a weekly rotating shift pattern, primarily responsible to ensure that all business IT systems are monitored and service requests complete.

As the successful candidate, you'll be ambitious, focused on developing your IT skills in order to progress in your career. As such, you're likely to be in the early stages of your IT career, eager for an opportunity to prove yourself with a major brand. Ideally you will have recent experience working within a 1st/2nd line IT support position of a graduate or apprentice level, awaiting an opportunity to build upon that foundation.. You'll be a good communicator, confident in your ability to advise and solve problems using your growing technical knowledge. Ideally you'll have worked in a retail environment at some point to understand the types of technology retail outlets use however, this is not essential.

Responsibilities Include:

Main point of contact for all alerts and problems.
Escalation to management all major issues.
Liaising with suppliers
Manage batch and interface jobs
Undertake system administration tasks as needed
Undertake security patching across all IT systems and follow the IT Change Control process
Assist with the running of the annual audit reports and escalate compliance concerns
Improve operations by identifying any process that can be automated and highlight to management.
Following a rotating shift pattern

Recent exposure of typical Retail IT landscapes
Able to balance work-flow
