Due to development within the team our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical systems for control and operation of equipment and new projects
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction maintenance, support and documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with specification, codes and customer requirements
  • Provide technical assistance to electrical equipment problems at company facilities
  • Identify and implement engineered solutions through Management of Technical Change
  • Use of computer assisted engineering design software to perform engineering design
  • Work closely with other disciplines such as controls and hydraulics design within upkeep and equipment evolution
  • Ensure electrical schematics are accurate for all equipment and projects
  • Production of specifications, reports within agreed timescales
  • Project manage build and equipment upgrade projects
  • Keep abreast of industry developments in electrical and control systems and ensure the client remains at the forefront
  • Review and enhance existing electrical systems and control systems to ensure the clients equipment is state of the art
  • Development and document electrical maintenance programmes to allow maximum equipment utility and ensure operational and maintenance checks are carried out on the clients equipment prior to deployment in accordance with these documented procedures and checklists
  • Discover, develop and manage subcontract electrical service providers, as necessary
  • Drive Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements for Aquatic people, equipment and processes. Ensure, by example and supervision, that HSEQ principles required by legislation, standard, recommendation and requirement are fulfilled. Ensure the workforce is aware of the hazards and controls necessary for their safety and that of others.

Education
  • Educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline, preferably Electrical/Electronics.
  • Preferably Chartered or working towards

Training
  • Specialist training in Electrical Systems Design
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics

Skills
  • Communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of mechanics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Familiarity with normal office software packages
  • Understand Service Delivery and Client requirements

Experience
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years electrical engineering experience
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience in development of cost and timelines and delivering to budget
  • Extensive knowledge in the design and development of electrical and control systems
  • Full understanding of HS&E obligations.
