Events Manager & Marketing Manager needed to work single-handedly - work from home part time (5 hours a week self employed)

Women in Trade magazine has been established for 6 years. The organisation is growing quickly, so we are looking to recruit a flexible events manager to handle our events from start to finish.

We believe in investing in people and in recognising their potential to grow within the company, this would start as a part-time, flexible position with potential to accrue more hours or go full time in 2020. This is a work from home position with some travelling to clients or venues.

There is also opportunity to earn commission based on ticket sales to the events.

You will be responsible for:
  • Creating, managing and delivering events such as awards ceremonies and conferences.
  • Compiling information including attendees, potential award winners and market research for similar industry events
  • Attending events and managing your own success
  • Travelling to clients and venues to discuss partnerships, pricing and planning
  • Marketing events to promote them to attendees, potential award winners and potential sponsors
  • Managing your own organisation and planning skills, as well as maintaining an excellent level of communication within the business and with clients
  • Researching similar industry events and delivering ideas and feedback to develop events for Women In Trade
  • Conducting market research of the magazine events industry to plan Women In Trade events

Requirements:
  • Be willing to work a small amount of hours to begin with (around 5 hours per week, but sometimes no hours depending on the events schedule)
  • Be willing to register as self employed and invoice Women In Trade for your work
  • At least 1-2 years experience in the events/public relations/marketing industry and experience of planning, managing and delivering events
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills
  • A qualification in hospitality/public relations/communications/marketing - e.g Bachelor's degree or similar and a copy of your qualification certificate
  • Speak English as a first language, and have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
  • Able to provide references from previous employers
  • Able to come to Hertfordshire for a face to face interview and occasional meetings
  • YOU MUST BE ABLE TO GIVE A 5-10 MINUTE PRESENTATION ON ALL THE SUCCESSFUL EVENTS YOU HAVE RUN, INCLUDING HOW MANY TICKET SALES YOU MADE
  • ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE RUN EVENTS ON YOUR OWN

Desirable:
  • Full driving licence and own vehicle

We are a very inclusive business who like to support people who have families or other commitments by offering a low amount of hours initially, with the potential to grow the hours in the future. This role would suit someone with other commitments or another job who is looking to expand within the industry.
