An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Team Leader to join Milestones Trust. We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation with a 33 year history of offering person-centred support to people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia.

Based at Graeme Close, Fishponds, Bristol with a basic of £21,484 per annum + excellent benefits, you will be responsible for encouraging and supporting service users to define and develop their chosen lifestyles through personal centred care.

Graeme Close is situated in Fishponds and offers a recovery service for sixteen people with complex mental health needs. The aim of the service is to enable people to develop and maintain a lifestyle which promotes their physical and emotional well-being.

Working at Graeme Close, you will be responsible for supporting the people who use the service to define and develop their chosen lifestyles through person-centred care. You will work as one of a team of ATL's who have management responsibility for a team of support workers and domestic staff. On a day to day basis you will be responsible for leading shifts, including supporting people with their medication/health appointments and accessing the local community. You will have keyworker responsibilities and will be expected to work with people to create support plans and strength- based risk assessments as appropriate.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
The Successful Assistant Team Leader will:
  • Have strong leadership skills, promoting excellent care practice
  • Be able to co-ordinate shifts and delegate competently
  • Be committed to delivering a high quality service which places the residents at the heart of the practice
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to work as part of a large team
  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, service users and a range of stakeholders.
