Gi Group are working with a manufacturer and supplier of premium quality reclining and fixed sofas in both leather and fabric to the UK market, with manufacturing facilities in China, UK, and the USA where their sister company have been a leading supplier to major retailers for the past 20 years.
With a UK turnover that has grown by 300% and 100% respectively over the past 2 years. Now is a very exciting time to join the business with an expected growth in excess of 200% again in 2018. As a small medium enterprise within the UK my client has, their sites set high, on becoming a UK's leading supplier of luxury furniture.

The opportunity
My client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant with working knowledge of a small or medium-sized company in a fast-growing environment. They will be supporting the Managing Director in day-to-day management of the accounts and be pivotal in the projected and strategic financial growth of the company. The role requires a professional, conscientious and pro-active approach, in keeping with the Company's reputation and brand, exemplary attention to detail and a positive work ethic.

As an experience Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

* Month-end management accounts, providing concise and accurate information to the management team to advise and make strategic decisions.
* Prepare regular reports by collecting data, analysing and investigating variances, and summarising data, information and trends.
* Respond to financial enquiries by gathering, analysing, summarising and interpreting data.
* Prepare and file quarterly VAT and EC Sales returns.
* Comply with statutory filing requirements, advising management on required actions.
* Be conversant with operational processes in order to advise on best financial practice.
* Keep up to date with current and upcoming financial regulations and accepted practices.
* Management of cash flow, including reporting and forecasting, and the monitoring and overseeing of credit control, including setting and monitoring of credit limits.
* Resolve creditor and debtor queries, including raising purchase orders and credit notes where relevant.
* Track exchange gains and losses on foreign currency payments.
* Multi-currency bank reconciliations, resolving all queries in a timely and efficient manner.
* Where required, assist auditors in completion and filing of financial year-end accounts.
* Maintain and develop good financial practice and processes to increase efficiency and transparency.
* Provide cost analysis and assist in setting and maintaining budgets.
* Challenge costs and margins, ensuring continued value for money.
* Lead and motivate a team, providing cover when required.
* Perform other related duties, as required.

Experience & Qualifications
Recognised accounts qualification (or working towards), e.g. CIMA or ACCA.
* Experience in financial management.
* Experience in book-keeping.
* High level administration skills.
* Highly proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
* Experience of KPI monitoring and reporting.
* Excellent organisational skills, able to meet deadlines.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Analyse performance and trends to support and drive the right activity around forecasting.
* Can prioritise tasks especially when under pressure and set expectations accordingly.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Courteous and professional.
* Commercially aware and forward thinking.
* Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
* Confident, thorough and collaborative.
* Proactive, flexible
