Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Solution Consultant, with strong technical, business analysis, communication and consulting skills, to lead vital business initiatives for the Sales & Solutions Team within the Communication Services division of Computershare (CCS).

Working closely with the Sales and local/global technology teams, the Solution Consultant must understand client challenges, objectives, and requirements, and turn these into business and product development opportunities for CCS, through the integration of CCS technology, products and services. CCS solutions stem from a suite of products including (but not limited to) document composition and multi-channel communications, content management systems, and business process automation.

The Solution Consultant will need to be able to work in isolation or as part of a wider team, delivering projects and initiatives within defined timescales and sometimes within strict regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Driving existing and new product development, either directly or as part of the wider team. Includes supporting technology/product deployment projects.
  • Acting in a pre-sales/consulting capacity and assisting with sales meetings, product demonstrations, responses to tender documents, requirements understanding and scope definition.
  • Contribute to the collection, documentation and analysis of client requirements, solution design and other implementation related activities (i.e. testing/"go live" plans) in line with the defined methodology.
  • Working with and influencing internal and external clients to achieve business and client objectives.
  • Defining solutions through the integration of core CCS technologies and services which address specific client requirements/challenges and also contributing to internal business improvement and strategic initiatives.
  • Become a trusted advisor/regional expert to internal and external clients for CCS products and capability, demonstrating innovation and differentiating Computershare's solutions. Build CCS product knowledge through projects and interfacing with other CCS Solution Consultants and Subject Matter Experts from around the world.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practice within our business.
  • Being a technical lead on complex projects/initiatives, supporting planning and execution phases to ensure successful delivery within defined timescales.

Skills/Experience & Competencies:

  • A Bachelors Degree or equivalent Tertiary Qualification, and five or more years' experience as a Business Analyst or Technology Solution Consultant.
  • Experience in product and proposition development, including building underlying commercial models and business cases.
  • Ability to lead consulting activities, coordinating different resources as required.
  • Demonstrable experience in creating effective technology solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Strong client focus and demonstrable ability to deliver outcomes that meet client expectations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate solution benefits and make complex issues easy to understand.
  • Previous pre-sales experience working closely with sales and business development teams.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and leadership for large and complex projects.
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships with a range of different stakeholders with varying degrees of experience, capability and seniority.

  • Strong experience from the Communications industry including a good understanding of core processes and technologies, document design and document composition, production of outbound and inbound communications, data analysis, enterprise document management and workflow, and digital communications.
  • Knowledge in some or all of our core markets: Lending, Utilities, Wealth Management, Share Registrar Services, Employee Equity Services (Share plans)
  • Experience in managing small project teams.
  • Experience in an IT/Technical Consulting related position.
