Our client is one of the region's most active attractions and they are expanding both their events and their business as a conference and functions venue.

The business is looking for a lively but established Marketing Manager who can help grow the venue to maximise its potential as a go-to destination for the region. You will be managing a substantial budget and be responsible for growing the business further.
Key responsibilities
  • Manage the marketing and PR to ensure budgets for consumers buying tickets to the shows are achieved
  • Some involvement with venue hire marketing
  • Ensure the good reputation and brand of the shows and exhibitions are maintained
Key tasks
  • Planning, developing and implementing effective marketing communication campaigns using full marketing mix including print and digital
  • Managing key agency relationships ie web, PR, media buying, design, ticketing agencies. To include briefing, reporting and monitoring activities and performance
  • Writing copy for marketing collateral (or briefing copywriter)
  • Managing three websites - keeping content up to date and regularly refreshed using the CMS (Umbraco). Including knowledge of SEO, PPC and Analytics
  • Database segmentation and digital communications using Dot Mailer
  • Signage for shows
  • At shows - managing press office, photographers, videographers and overseeing at show communications
  • Producing Annual Review
  • Monitoring ongoing spend against budget, ensuring accurate records and highlighting where variances occur
  • Analysing results post show and producing accurate reports on effectiveness of campaigns
  • Monitoring competitor activity
Person Specification
  • Strong project management/organisation skills including excellent written presentation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Email, Word, Power Point and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work in a team but also be a self-starter
  • Ability to manage agencies
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at different stages
  • Attention to detail but also creativity

Desirable requirements:
  • Event management experience
  • Degree in marketing or business and/or CIM or IDM qualifications
