Hydrasun is a leading specialist provider of integrated fluid transfer, power and control solutions to the energy industries, successfully delivering flexible hose, integrated instrumentation products, umbilical solutions and integrity management services worldwide.

We are recruiting for a Rapid Response Quote Estimator to complete Price and Delivery requests from sales departments for the Precision Manufacturing Division and Aberdeen Machine Shop. Responsible for fast response of all quotations of Hydrasun manufactured special components. Ensuring that work is appropriately planned and scheduled to meet customer delivery requirements within quality specification.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • Experience in working in a Engineering or Manufacturing environment
  • Oil and Gas industry knowledge
  • City & Guilds Engineering Certificate (or equivalent)
  • ONC or SVQ level 3 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Basic IT systems/Microsoft Office experience
  • Ability to work to strict standards and procedures
  • Good communications skills
  • Ability to work under on own initiative
  • Good organisational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Numeric skills
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions
  • Ability to understand technical specifications

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • HNC/D level Engineering Qualification
  • Experienced in the operation of various types of machine shop equipment
  • Experience in estimating P&Ds for machined components
  • Experience in the operation of various types of machine shop equipment
  • Experience/knowledge of Stainless Steel and 'exotic' components.
  • Previous ERP system experience

Duties will include but will not be limited to:
  • Provide fast, accurate estimates for price and delivery requirements including CNC lathe times, material, tooling and sub-contract prices.
  • Liaise with material suppliers and sub-contract machine shops to obtain the best price and delivery
  • Accurately reviewing customer specifications and drawings
  • Liaise with Aviemore, research and development and engineering department regarding design issues
  • Provide technical assistance to sales department with special part enquiries
  • Input to production schedules to allow fast response to urgent customer delivery requirements through communication with the Precision Manufacturing Division and Aberdeen Machine Shop
  • All safety rules and regulations in accordance with the organisation's HSE Management System, to be conformed to at all times
  • Ensure that all tasks carried out by team meet company QMS procedures
  • Calibration - ensure all equipment required for quoted manufacture is maintained and in date.
  • To work overtime to ensure organisational or client deadlines are met.
  • To provide holiday and absence cover within department and assist with Machine Shop day to day activities if required.
