Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Engineer to assist the plant operations, contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilising continuous improvement techniques.Ideal candidates will focus on the "vehicle of change" comfortable working with all levels within the organisation with the ability to challenge the status quo with strong communication skills. The successful candidate will join CarnaudMetalbox (CMB) Engineering, part of Crown Holdings Inc., the market leader in the design, development and manufacture of can-making machinery. Job Requirements

Primary responsibilities will include but not limited to, managing and leading continuous improvement projects in addition to mentoring and coaching peers. Applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools and methodology in the implementation of manufacturing excellence initiatives. Managing a portfolio of lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality to provide greater valve; implements such tools as: 5S, KPI, SMED, VSM, and Kaizen. Train and Lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams; focusing on measurable quality, service and cost improvements. Be aware of and support the implementation of formal six sigma tools to reduce process and product variation. Implement such tools as: SPC, Process Capability, Pareto analysis, Fishbone, SMED, DoE. Train, coach and motivate personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques. Drive the standardisation of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices whilst supporting other tasks which could drive CI projects such as PFMEA. Assist in setting annual operational targets and help drive improvement to achieve those targets. Conducting training pertaining to H&S and green belt certification. The ability to demonstrate the knowledge of and/or experience in engineered part manufacture coupled with the capacity to evaluate the current machining techniques and challenges is essential. Candidates must hold a HNC or above in Mechanical Engineering in addition to being green belt trained and working towards a formal black belt qualification or capacity to undertake approved training.
