Data Governance Analyst

My Client, a Government body, is looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join their Data Governance team in Central Brighton, as a Data Governance Analyst. They are looking for someone to support the establishment and maintenance of data governance and provide assurance that the organisation's data is GDPR compliant.

Scope/Responsibilities:
  • To work with and support the Data Governance Lead, assisting in management of strategic and business risks; including but not limited to, records, information management and Data Governance.
  • To assist, develop and maintain Data Governance policies, principles, standards, procedures and awareness across the organisation.
  • Take ownership for ensuring data is managed in accordance with the principles, standards and policies.
  • To be responsible and at the front lines, as first point of call, for all things Data Governance for the organisation.
  • Supporting the Governance Lead and DPO in provision of assurance and ensure the business' data estate is GDPR compliant.

Skills Required:
  • Knowledge or Understanding of how data is used in a business context
  • Knowledge or understanding of Governance in a business context
  • Proven work experience in a fast paced administrative, policy writing, or data protection/privacy role.
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret laws and regulations
  • Strong collaborative mind-set, ability to work in unison and in a coordinated manner with colleagues from across all departments
  • Able to take responsibility, and work independently whilst being proactive and using initiative to solve problems quickly
  • Analytical, Critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail & assimilation of information.
  • Excellent Written & Verbal Communication skills
  • Strong IT & Microsoft Office skill/experience
