We are currently recruiting for a Welder/Fabricator to join our Aberdeen Workshop on a Fixed Term for 12 months. The work scope includes but is not limited to completing various weld set-ups and welds as required on projects undertaken both within the workshop and at several SOS onshore sites.
Main responsibilities • To follow fabrication drawings in accordance with Sparrows specific procedures and tolerances • complete weld set-ups and welding using various welding techniques such as Stick, Mig, and Core wire • To check visually their work before welding commences • To check visually their work before placing their ID number on the weld. • To check welding plant/equipment prior to and after use highlighting any faults/ defects to the workshop supervision. • To control weld consumables & steel stock by updating records when using materials • To ensure stock tag nos. remains marked on the unused materials returned to the steel racks.
HSEQ responsibilities
• It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the company's health, safety, environment and quality management system and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the management systems. • The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the management system processes/procedures. • The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health , safety and/or environmental legislation to follow all company policies, procedures, guidelines, control measures, signage and permit conditions and to know what to do in an emergency. • The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the company premises.
Qualifications and experience
• Experience of Welding and fabrication • Good communication and organisational skills • Understand and be able to comply with all HSEQ processes • 3rd party management • Forklift operator certificate, minimum 2 Tonne • Rigging qualification level 1 • Adaptable in an ever changing environment
