Finance Manager

Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: £30 - £35K, DOE, Pro Rata
Contract: Permanent, Part Time
Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Finance Manager - The Role:

Maximising revenue by providing an efficient finance service to the company ensuring all relevant financial targets are met.

A degree of flexibility is required for this role.

Finance Manager - Key responsibilities for this Job Role:
  • To co-ordinate preparation of monthly management accounts including month/year end procedures to final audit and financial review level.
  • Co-ordinating and monitoring sales team remuneration procedures as per stated department procedure.
  • Dealing with all HMRC issues including submitting EC Sales and VAT returns within stated deadlines.
  • To monitor and control debtor days to required target as set by Directors.
  • To be responsible for payroll preparation and all related activities.
  • Complying with all stated ISO quality procedures for finance department.
  • To liaise and maintain effective working relationships with finance department's external suppliers - i.e. accountants/auditors/payroll bureau/suppliers and dealers.
  • To be responsible for ensuring the Finance Department Procedures Manual is regularly reviewed and maintained.
  • To be knowledgeable on all aspects of the running order of the department in order to provide cover for other team members as required.

Finance Manager - Candidate specification:

The ideal candidate will be outgoing, and can communicate effectively at all levels, works well as part of a team, is a self-starter and motivated by achieving targets, is methodical and has excellent attention to detail.

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English
  • AAT or similar qualification
  • ACCA or similar qualification

The ideal candidate will also have experience of some or all of the following:
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative, and to question processes in order to make improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications in particular Excel, and Sage software or similar
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance related role at management level.
  • Proven track record of controlling income, cash flow and expenditure
  • Experience of working as part of a team
