Your new role:

Nigel Wright group are delighted to be supporting a well known business in their recruitment of a Group Payroll Manager. This role will be responsible for both people management and ensuring the accuracy of multiple payrolls is maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for processing payrolls from start to finish - inlcuding costing, reporting and accounting.
- Liaising with HR, employees and the payroll team on payroll related queries and ensuring time/data capture is maintained where possible.
- Payroll reporting to meet internal and statutory obligations.
- Completing month end procedures and reconciliation and ensuring all payments are paid correctly and on time to all third parties.
- Ensuring that statutory payments are verified and recorded appropriately.
- Importing BACS payroll payments as required.
- Being proactive in identifying changes to legislation, anticpitaing and managing implications and impact of any changes.
- Responsible for P11D information and to ensure that the payroll systems are maintained and updated with employee benefits as required.
- Year-end processing of P11D's, P45 and P60's, Gender pay gap reporting.
- Pension reconciliation, auto-enrolment assessments and the setting up of contributions and full pension file upload to the pension providers.
- Providing professional support and guidance to the HR Managers on all payroll matters, making recommendations on strategic and policy matters and understanding and manage impacts of Government initiatives e.g. National minimum wage, living wage, gender pay reporting etc.
- Liaising with external agenices in respect of stautory, and other deductions.

As the ideal candidate you will:

- Have proven experienced at a managerial level within a similar payroll environment (1800 + employees)
- Appropriate payroll qualification desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant financial reporting standards and their application.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant PAYE, SMP, SSP, NI and Taxation legislation.
- A good level of knowledge of current audit and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- This is a leadership role, however candidates must have a lead by example approach.
- Advanced Excel capability.
