IT Governance & Risk Manager, West Bromwich, Birmingham, up to £40,000 per annum depending upon experience

A new opportunity has arisen for an IT Governance & Risk Manager to provide assurance that my clients division operates in line with policy and that controls for managing risk are both efficient and effective. You will be expected to lead the IT governance and risk management strategy, ensuring that the company operates with four basic principles; customer centricity, digitally enabled, cost efficient and agile and helps evolve and change the IT operating model.

Key Responsibilities

\* Establish and embed an effective IT governance and risk management framework in line the strategic goals and risk appetite

\* Lead and evolve the divisions operating model through stakeholder collaboration, using knowledge and experience of control frameworks and maturity models to drive improved services and controls

\* Manage the risk register for the division, providing appropriate intervention and influence to ensure risk events are fully resolved and learnings are applied

\* Provide oversight and support for the completion of audits within the division. Facilitate management responses and oversee the timely completion of audit actions

\* Develop and maintain the Operational Resilience and Business Continuity frameworks for the division. Lead and coordinate activities on behalf of the division in the event that Business Continuity plans are invoked

\* Deputise for the Business Operations Manager when appropriate

Skills & Attributes

\* Ideally a minimum of 3 years experience of working in an IT governance and risk management environment or similar assurance function, preferably within Financial Services

\* Knowledge of implementing IT control frameworks, maturity models (e.g. COBIT, ITIL, CMMI, etc.) and relevant best practices

\* Experience of performing risk and control based reviews

\* High degree of personal motivation and initiative

\* Good interpersonal and influencing skills

\* Excellent communication skills

\* Strong organisation skills and effective time management
