Full Time
In a world of recruitment advertising full of superlatives, this genuinely is a rare opportunity to join an industry leading practice in their Sheffield office.

Due to a combination of internal moves, planned expansion and a key team member deciding to return to full time study, this practice is looking for three people to join in key positions with the mechanical building services design team.

There are opportunities to join them in their team as a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer or a Mechanical Associate depending upon your present level, expertise and management skills.

When discussing the markets in which they operate, it is easier to exclude those that they do not carry out a great deal of work; you are unlikely to be involved with a retail fit out scheme or a low budget commercial building refurbishment to say the least as they don't seek work in those areas or attract those clients.

If you are looking to be involved with sizable higher education, high profile art galleries or projects that other consultancies will shy away from due to their complexity, the chances are you are going to have a lot of fun here.

When applying for these post it is vital that you are currently working as a Senior, Principal or Associate level engineer within consultancy practice.

As a Principal Engineer you will be managing schemes, multi-disciplinary teams and taking a pro-active role in the management of the services group.

In the Associate role, you will have a greater level of financial responsibility, be expected to lead projects and client accounts as well as have a strong level of technical knowledge to share while also having a list of contacts from whom you can win work.

If you are applying for the Associate position, it is essential that you are Chartered and able to demonstrate a well rounded management background.

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Chartership isn't essential to join the organisation (they will support you with your application), but it should be on your radar at the very least.

The organisation has a unique culture in many ways valuing work:life balance, sustainability of solution and relationship with all parties ahead of profit. They make money, but it is a side effect of what they do, and the way that they do it, not the pure focus.

Their package is exceptional and includes a healthy pension contribution, car allowance, season ticket loan, excellent holidays and wealth of extras taking the value up considerable.

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in their Leeds office you can expect a base salary of around £45000 with a range of benefits that bring the total package to just shy of £60000. In the Mechanical Associate role, both the salary and package are enhanced, making this an exceptionally attractive organisation to work for in terms of career progression, personal well being and development and financial security.
