The Company

GMA are delighted to working in partnership in recruiting for a market leader in the field of electronic, electrical and mechanical engineering repair services throughout the UK.

They are able to provide first class repair and supply services for all kinds of variable speed drives, electronic control systems, motors and pumps. Typical industries they serve include Oil & Gas, Power, Water, Energy, FM and general industrial/manufacturing type businesses.

Due to the next phase in their growth plans they are looking to appoint an experienced General Manager, to lead their service centre in Glasgow, with a view to developing further growth.

The Role

As the General Manager you will be responsible for managing all activities. with a focus developing revenue opportunities in the industrial, power and Facilities management sectors, across the UK.

The role will involve close communication with customers and coordination of the team (head count of 15 across mechanical, electrical and electronic skilled engineers and supervisors) and resources available, to meet and exceed annual business objectives. The position also carries responsibility for all QHSE and lean initiatives.

Key responsibilities include

·Responsibility for the sites P & L

·To lead the team in line with business core values

·Drive revenue opportunities with a focus on the electronics repair sector UK wide

·Utilising other business locations (nationwide) to promote UK electronic repair and supply capability across all industry sectors UK wide

·Communicate effectively with all key clients to build upon a positive company perception in the market.

·To evaluate all business opportunities within the region in order to develop suitable business plans to achieve plan.

·To manage and lead the team in order to deliver agreed performance with the Regional Operations Director and MD.

The role is based at the site in Glasgow and will occasionally involve travel.

The Candidate

Ideally you will

·Have a strong electronic engineering background having worked in the electronics repair and/or manufacturing industry, with working knowledge of electronics

·Have strong man management and leadership skills

·Be comfortable in presenting to and dealing with, customers and company stakeholders at all levels

·Be able to understand financial statements with the capability to make strategic/business related decisions in growing the business.
