Commercial Manager (Reinsurance & Distribution Contracts), Great Blue Chip Company, 12 Month FTC, UP TO £48Kpa

Purpose of Commercial Manager role:

Lead on Reinsurance Treaties and Addenda ensuring contracts are properly completed in a timely manner. The role is also responsible for providing commercial input into Distribution contracts and related financial documentation. Ensuring all contracts have appropriate approval with all being filed, logged and reviewed as required.

Principal accountabilities:

Lead the process for Reinsurance Treaties and Addenda, taking ownership by knowing and understanding the contents with active management of queries to ensure new treaties and addenda are properly completed in a timely manner.

Responsible for the ongoing tasks relating to reinsurance treaty management, such as audits and providing support to other areas regarding related work to ensure ongoing management is performed.

Lead on responding to queries in relation to Treaties and Addenda to ensure that all issues and queries are resolved to an acceptable resolution so all parties all aligned in the details on the contracts.

Lead on the commercial aspects of all Distribution contracts. Challenging if draft contracts deviate from expected outcome to ensure contract is in line with approved terms

Draft and prepare standard Legal documents and developing templates for review and sign off by Group Legal

Liaise with external partners in relation to providing copies of contracts and management of sign off pages properly executed. Ensure appropriate sign off is received internally for all documents.

Maintain database of all Reinsurance and Distribution Contracts including key details and owners. Raising any issues in terms of expiry dates or other relevant clauses. Engage with the contract owners on a periodic basis. Ensure hard copies of all contracts are filed in an appropriate manner with electronic copies produced

To support the Senior Commercial Manager by reviewing processes to provide potential options for improvements with the view of reducing costs or improving output.

Qualifications, knowledge and skills: Qualifications:

Experience in a Commercial role

Knowledge:

  • Contract Management
  • Analytical and Creative thinking
  • Knowledge of the FCA Handbook (Insurance element)


Experience:

  • Strong document management skill
  • Strong communication skills
  • Relationship management
Leadership:

Some experience of people management (not essential)
