The site has 860 beds and covers a single site of approximately 95,000 square meters in floor space. The Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor to work closely with the Maintenance Manager. This role will be responsible for management, supervision and deployment of a multi-skilled workforce, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance, minor improvement and capital work across the four service areas of the hospital; estates, grounds and gardens, utilities and pest control.

The post holder will provide technical support and information to colleagues and senior managers and contribute to the development of the estates strategy and management of new works, improvement and refurbishment projects.

There is a limited budgetary responsibility; however has a delegated authority for purchases of equipment or services within the £1.3M estates budget, and the post holder will be expected to manage resources effectively.

This role will provide specialist knowledge and undertake Authorised Person duties and assist in the implementation of all relevant guidance in this regard, for all Building and Civil functions.

Experience and Skills:
  • Educated to Degree level or a relevant professional qualification (HNC or HND)
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and expertise across a wide range fo techniques and processes relevant to hospital engineering
  • Experience of direct line management
  • Previous experience within the NHS would be an advantage
