We have a fantastic opportunity within our Claims Department for a Technical Negotiator dealing with a variety of Complex/Multi Track Claims. This role would suit experienced Claims Negotiators with knowledge of claims over the value of £25k who are looking for an exciting new challenge in a fast paced, dynamic business. This role will be based at our London Office.

The Role

The Technical Negotiator will proactively manage a portfolio of cases of complex claims, investigate liability and third party presented quantum claims and agreeing fair outcomes within policy and legal liability. This would include maintaining an awareness of third party behaviours and changes in relevant legislation to understand the market place and handling approaches to provide suggestions for improvements.

Your remit will include the following;
  • Gathering of information to enable early arrival at the correct liability decision giving consideration to economic settlement, pro-actively securing appropriate recoveries to limit business exposure
  • Settle Third Party Claims within financial handling authority to achieve the optimum claims settlement using department and best practice strategies, whilst giving appropriate consideration to avoidance of unjustified litigation and unnecessary spend
  • Ensure that any cases that are over authority are referred appropriately and within agreed timescales
  • Identify potential fraudulent cases and liaise with the relevant departments to combat fraud
  • Negotiating between the policyholder, solicitors and third parties to get the best outcome for our customers
  • Manage and own the customer experience (including third party), ensuring adherence at all times to the principles of treating customers fairly and internal processes and procedures
  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Service Level Agreements, internal and external policies and governance are adhered to
  • Provide excellent referral responses providing coaching/mentoring for Claims Negotiators where required
  • Provide support to the Coaching Team/Team Leaders to assist in the development of Claims Negotiators using experience and knowledge gained in role

Required Experience
  • Motor Claims experience dealing with cases in excess of £25k
  • Technical Claims knowledge to the required level within the Competency Framework
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good level of commercial awareness
  • Insurance Based Qualification (Cert CII etc.) is highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of litigation process (Fast Track/Stage 3) is beneficial
