Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is recruiting for a System Specialist Team Lead with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.The Systems Specialist Team Lead will lead a small systems specialist team within the Finance and Administration function as part of the wider Finance and Admin Systems Support team. This team is responsible for providing specialist knowledge and support from a systems perspective through finance modules within various systems and interfaces. This role is time critical to ensure maximisation of our DSO and invoicing procedures alongside the operational Finance teams.This roles objective is to ensure the business is provided with high quality support related to maximising commercial worth and minimising risk by adhering to the accounting policies and processes of Wood Group. Wood Group work with fully customised systems which require a unique specialist skillset in order to implement and troubleshoot.The team lead position supports the Business Systems Manager in the delivery of effective Finance and Administration practice which complements the technical teams within the IT&S function.Lead, manage and motivate the systems specialist project teamProviding coaching and guidance to team members to develop and build on existing knowledge and skillsReport back key issues, risks and challenges to the F&A System Support Manager to allow formation of medium term business plansDefine, review and lead implementation of system processes within the project teamPromote, manage and develop learning programmes in conjunction with other team leads and finance stakeholders to share learning of system features and irregularities Ensure that the team provide the best possible customer service support to the Europe and Africa region in order to resolve complex system errors and reporting issues.Lead and manage all system and interface testing prior to implementation as requiredResponsible for ensuring weekly processes and tasks are completed in a timely mannerWork collaboratively with Finance and Commercial Managers to ensure that the systems are built to the correct specification for new project start ups and commercial arrangements.During any major system upgrades, enhancements or deployments, responsibility for ensuring necessary test script design and execution is approved and completed to a high standardAdvocate and champion for compliance with financial management framework.Ensure compliance to all WG and IFRS regulations/accounting reporting standards which are set by the GroupSkills / QualificationsQualifications:Finance/Accounting degree preferred but not essential Job specific experience: Experience in the use of Oracle accounting systemsExcellent skills and understanding of writing system and test scripts.
