My Chester based client is currently looking to appoint a Finance Manager reporting to the Group Financial Controller. The role will facilitate the development of management skills and enable the candidate to develop their profile amongst the senior management team within the company. The finance team is considered central to the success of this ambitious company and their aim is to proactively drive business value through informed and insightful decision making. They work in partnership with the business and are agile and responsive to business needs whilst maintaining a transparent system of effective standards, processes and controls. The role will suit a positive and engaging applicant who has a desire to develop within a high growth dynamic business.

Role responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of the monthly results, with a focus on revenue and margin
  • Responsible for balance sheet substantiation relating to accruals, deferred income, royalties and commissions
  • Responsible for accurate and timely payment of sales commissions for the company
  • Provide commentary and analysis on variance to forecasts and actuals
  • Manage the sales billing function, including maintenance of the CRM system
  • Key contact for external auditors in relation to revenue recognition and cost of sales accruals
  • Manage a small team of part qualified accountants with a focus on developing their talent within the team
  • Assist with the preparation of the interim and annual external financial reporting
  • Liaise with the Finance Business Partners and wider business to assist with the preparation of rolling forecasts for revenue, and assist in the development of improved MI
  • Challenge existing business processes and assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement

Candidate requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), with strong academics, able to demonstrate good analytical ability
  • A good knowledge of multicurrency and further exposure to an industry environment and accounts preparation is highly advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with an emphasis on process
  • Manage and prioritise the demands of multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality
  • Team management experience would be beneficial
  • High proficiency in Excel, including data analysis
  • You will be able to demonstrate a positive, engaging, hard-working approach
  • First rate interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the gravitas and confidence to command respect in dealing with senior stakeholders across the business
  • An individual with a desire to take on increasing responsibilities, that is comfortable with change in a high growth business and who is capable of growing with it
