Location - Reading area

AWE are currently seeking to hire a number of Craft Engineers and if you have served a recognised apprenticeship in a technical discipline then we are very interested in hearing from you.

If successful in this role you will be required to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive activities on plant and equipment which can include installations, repairs, replacement, calibration, testing, modifications. On a day to day basis you will apply and hone your trade skills, working in accordance with task instructions in a safe and effective manner to ensure plant and equipment are available as required.

You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of all applicable procedures, legislation and safety measures as well as providing technical advice and guidance to customers and stakeholders.

To be considered for this position you will need the following:
  • An Engineering Apprenticeship with a minimum NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in a relevant discipline or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 plus industrial experience
  • Working knowledge/experience of operational craft activities including fault finding techniques and methodologies
  • Working knowledge/experience of building services, plant, equipment and processes
  • Ideally, you will have demonstrable experience relating to your specific trade discipline (C&I, Electrical, Electronic and/or Mechanical)

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance
