Work hours: 35 hours per week

Remuneration Package: £40,107 - £45,120 + bonus + healthcare + pension + generous annual leave allowance + flexible working opportunities

About the role

As a Service Design & Transition Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for taking ownership of all activities in transitioning IT Services into a new or existing environment with minimal disruption to production services and operations.

You will be expected to run a portfolio of live transition projects varying in scale and complexity which will involve taking ownership for delivering, as well as highlighting and managing risks to the business.

The ideal person for this role will excel in an autonomous environment and be capable of directing resource and activities to reach tight and changing deadlines. To meet expectations set by the businesses you will need to multi-task and have a clear view on what needs to be delivered and when.

Experience in the designing of new Service Models or Wraps, either from scratch, or tweaking designs in an established service catalogue is a must have, as is previous experience successfully delivering in an Agile / Waterfall led-environment.

There are two fixed term contract roles available for 12 months which will play an important part in support our on-going project activity.

Key Accountabilities

What will you be doing?
  • Working closely across multiple areas to ensure that high quality IT services are designed, transitioned and operate successfully in the live environment. This will include any supporting tools, systems, information and service portfolio requirements.
  • Working closely with project teams to ensure all necessary requirements have been captured, analysed and meet the agreed deliverables.
  • Working closely with delivery teams to capture and manage information on service level agreements, key performance metrics and other agreed reporting criteria, to ensure that that the effectiveness of deliverables is measured successfully.
  • Facilitate the delivery of all agreed Service Acceptance Criteria including operational expenditure budget.
  • Working across multiple areas to ensure the production of a Service Design Package, including the production of other artefacts that are required to meet current and future business requirements. This will include any relevant policies, processes or standards.
  • Chair any necessary meetings between the project and support stakeholders (internal and external) and provide regular progress updates to all support stakeholders.
  • Communicate any risks and issues affecting the support organisation to the Project Manager and log them in the Network Rail risk register.
  • Manage the Early Life Support period and facilitate a graceful handover to the operational support owners.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications

What will you be doing?

Essential
  • Proven experience in Service Management
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • ITIL v3 qualified to Service Design & Transition Lifecycle/Capabilities (Intermediate Level) or equivalent experience
  • Good stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Good understanding and experience of using service management tools
  • Good communicator across all levels

Desirable
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of management structures and reporting procedure
  • Understanding of risk management
  • Experience of Service Deployment Methodologies such as; 'Agile', Rapid Applications Deployment or Dynamic Solution Deployment Methodology
  • Formal Project and Programme Management qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2 and MSP or equivalent lifecycle experience
  • Leadership capability
