We have great opportunity based at The Bedford Sixth Form for a Teacher of Chemistry and Applied Science to become a key member of our Bedford Sixth Form Teaching department.

As a Teacher of Chemistry and Applied Science, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:
  • Helping students develop their skills and reaching their maximum potential through the delivery of courses and contributing to the development of Sixth Form curriculum and student experience.
  • Planning, preparing and delivering a range of lessons maintaining a high quality learning environment.
  • Providing timely assessments, appropriate feedback and recording of students' progress, development and attainment in order that students understand how to improve their learning.


Our ideal candidates will have current or recent experience of teaching A Level Chemistry and Level 3 Applied Science and experience of teaching in a Sixth Form or FE College environment with students 16 - 18 year olds and additional experience of using ILT to enhance teaching and learning, alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument
  • English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-Cor equivalent

Contract Type-Bedford College

37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 39 weeks per year

55 holiday per annum, pro rata
