Job Description:

PK Education's Leicestershire Branch are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist school who are looking for someone to join their team on a permanent basis. This school are in need of a qualified teacher who is able to lead their PSHE and Careers lessons for the children who have behavioural issues.

The successful candidate will deliver PSHE and careers across the upper school (KS3/4) and may be required to teach an additional off curriculum subject depending on timetable, suitability and qualifications. They would also be expected to contribute to the wider school curriculum - for example offsite trips and outdoor education.

We want to hear from people with drive and a willingness to go the extra mile to improve the lives of the young people in our care. Strong inter-personal skills, team working and a sense of humour are also vital.

Interviews will be held as soon as possible. Visits are encouraged and can be arranged through PK Education.

The following is Essential for a successful candidate:
  • Able to plan, organise and deliver learning and associated activity to meet accreditation requirements.
  • Able to stimulate and engage learners through the use of techniques, methods and activities, which engage, interest and motivate them to learn and achieve.
  • Provide differentiated resources to engage all pupils of varying lessons within a class.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of a range of assessment techniques and approaches and the ability to apply such knowledge to support the learning process.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of those with emotional and behavioural difficulties and an ability to manage and control challenging behaviour through de-escalation and restraint techniques.
  • Able to manage, organise and analyse data and information to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Current driving licence.
  • Educated to degree level and able to demonstrate competence in teaching based on experience and/ or certification.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and ability to change teaching styles to fit to pupils in the classroom
