CAD Designer /CAD Draughtsperson

Are you a CAD Draughtsperson with experience in Sheet Metal, Steel Manufacturing Techniques?

Gi Group Scarborough are proud to be representing their client, a leading steel manufacturing company in their search for a CAD Designer/ CAD Draughtsperson to work in their facility in Scarborough area.

The successful candidate will be working closely with Architects and Engineers you could be designing and creating 3D models using their Vertex system, generating general arrangement drawings in 2D for the client's approval as well as generating assembly drawings for their fabricated projects.

As a CAD Designer/ CAD Draughtsperson you would be speaking directly to the client, Architect or engineer updating them on the progress as well as occasionally going out on site to meet with them face to face.

Responsibilities may include:
* The role requires the use of Solidworks 3D modelling software
* The candidate will be producing CSV files from the CAD software for the production team or part drawings for the components
* Sheet Metal and Fabrication Design
* Preparing manufacturing drawings for factory production
* The person will be required to gain an in-depth knowledge of the products being produced and will be expected to liaise regularly with Production
* The role requires the generation of production drawings of a variety of products based upon standardised products and systems or bespoke details to a customer's requirements
* There will be opportunities to assist the development team with innovative methods of working to streamline the order processing

* 3D CAD experience is essential
* Previous experience using Vertex / AutoCAD / Revit / AutoDesk / Tekla / AutoDesk Inventor / Advanced Steel / SolidWorks
* Sheet metal experience and knowledge steel manufacturing welding
* The candidate should be experienced in the standard Microsoft Office software suite
* The ability to accurately interpret a customer's requirements and a conscientious method of working along with the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential skills.
* Educated to HNC/BTEC level in an Engineering
