Bright Horizons Day Nurseries, awarded "Great Place to Work" for 14 years are currently recruiting for a Nursery Manager to join our Slough Nursery located in Berkshire. The role is a maternity contract with the view this could become a permanent role within this, or another Bright Horizons Nursery. This role is working full time, Monday - Friday and we are offering a salary of between £32,000 - £47,000 per annum. As one of the leading nurseries in Slough we are well located on the Slough trading estate within walking distance of Burnham Station, close to the A4 and on bus routes 4, 12, 13 & BR. Induct, support, and train all staff to ensure a high quality childcare practice • Support staff retention and team building through effective communication, succession planning and team engagement • Lead the promotion of parent partnership by developing a parent advisory committee to facilitate communication, share information, and allow parent input • Have a child centred approach to the running of the service, ensuring the observation and planning process meets the needs of all children and their interests • Daily management and monitoring of all health and safety practices and progress checks • Understand the importance of keeping everybody safe and act as a designated person for safeguarding children • Deploy staff effectively to maintain staffing ratios in accordance with statutory regulations and budgets • Administer, maintain, monitor and report on all relevant finances • Encourages an environment of continuous professional development including a commitment to update own knowledge through a range of sources Essential Skills and Experience Required: • A full and relevant level 3 qualification • Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly • Previous Nursery Management experience in relevant settings. • Able to have empathy and an ability to understand a child's view • Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques. Project positively the organisations goals, philosophies and policies to parent, staff, and the community. • Motivate, inspire, and lead a team, encouraging team effort. Provide coaching and mentoring. Able to manage the performance of others and succession plan • Able to be a competent user of company ICT systems and have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills. • Demonstrate good financial acumen with the skills to manage budgets • Able to manage workload and manage time effectively to deliver the desired results. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: * Designated Safeguarding Lead to promote the health, safety and welfare of children and employees and families in line with our child protection and keeping everyone safe policies and procedures. * Responsibility to make referrals to external agencies and regulatory bodies * Sets the high standards of behaviour across their setting in line with our Heart Principles * Lead, mentor and inspire a team to deliver pedagogical exceptional care and education and provide feedback to create a consistent approach of early years practice to include but not limited to regular 1:1's, Supervisions and appraisals * Continually work in partnership with colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals to meet the individual needs of the children ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach is maintained at all times. * Achieve Good, Excellent or Outstanding regulatory assessments and ensuring internal audit process and requirements are met in line with company expectations. * Identify commercial opportunities to continuously increase FTE and achieve KPI's set within People, Quality Growth * Ensure internal policies and procedures are adhered whilst also meeting the external legislation and guidelines from our governing bodies. * Fulfil recruitment needs for the nursery as required aligned to the Safer Recruitment Policy * Provide new starters with tailored inductions to suit both local and internationally recruited new starters Knowledge, skills and Qualifications: * Early Years Qualification at level 3 or above (Early Years Degree desirable) * Sound/Good commercial acumen * Ability to plan and strategise * Powerful performance coach * Collaborative and decisive * Analytical capability * Up to date knowledge of regulatory requirements * Uncompromising on quality Experience Essential: * At least 2 years Post qualified experience of working within the Early Years sector (or equivalent) Qualificatio
