SEN Teaching Assistant required for Autumn term, full time role dealing with pupils with SEMH, KS3 & 4

Your new company
Hays Education are supporting a local school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with them on a long term basis. This role is to start immediately and will continue on an ongoing basis. The school is located in north Birmingham and describe themselves as a focused and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos. They spoke confidently about the supportive team of staff currently in post and look forward to welcoming a new addition to the team.

Your new role
In this challenging, but extremely rewarding role, you will work alongside pupils working in KS3 & KS4. There will be responsibilities within the classroom in supporting some pupils with additional needs amongst their peers with an aim to build positive, meaningful relationships with the students and to develop social integration.

In addition, this Teaching Assistant role may offer the opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs in small groups or on a 1:1 basis for intervention programmes aimed to offer these pupil more targeted support.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this teaching assistant job opportunity, you must have experience working with children with challenging behaviour and must also be able to demonstrate an awareness of the key competencies that are expected to go along with working with children with SEN, as well as good knowledge of the national primary curriculum.
