We have a huge presence in the Leeds digital space, and are looking to strengthen our in-house technical team by appointing a Principal Software Engineer to assess our use of technology and methodologies. We are proud to service in excess of 20 million customers with a state-of-the-art product range and have recently partnered with a number of global names, integrating their services within our next generation platform.

Our technical team are the glue that holds us together; developing innovative products and services to ensure we always stay ahead of our competitors. Due to growth, we urgently require a hands-off Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in either Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP or C#. This is a brand new opening that will allow you to bring your ideas to the table and have your voice heard as you guide our teams to establish further success within our market. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

We require a Principal Software Engineer with solid knowledge of at least two OOP languages and software architecture patterns to work closely in a hands-off capacity with the technical team who ensure our customers are receiving the correct services. Your responsibilities will cover: researching trends in technology and ensuring we utilise the most appropriate stack for each project, driving the team to utilising best practices and guiding developers through the end-to-end software development life cycle.

In order to succeed, you will have a strong background in producing enterprise-level, scalable solutions, solid exposure to CI / CD ways of working and be a confident negotiator. We work with cutting-edge technologies, meaning you'll gain exposure to the likes of AWS, Azure, Docker, JavaScript Libraries and more. Working in a small autonomous team (as part of a much larger operation), you will benefit from a start-up feel and have plenty of opportunity to grow and progress.

YOU NEED TO HAVE...

Strong experience of two of the following: Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP or C#
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Agile and CI / CD

IT'S NICE TO HAVE...

An involvement in the wider tech community; meet ups, blogging, conferences etc.
Experience working in the media industry
