Our client is an industry leading contractor who have an excellent reputation for delivering class leading, reliable and cost-effective construction solutions specialising in bespoke design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment processes, pumping and storage solutions.

Our client has significant experience in procuring and managing large-scale water and wastewater projects from concept to completion. They offer a complete package from concept design and buildability advice, through detailed development, value engineering and alternative designs, management of construction and operations, to ongoing maintenance. Our client utilises their inhouse civil and MIECA resources to successfully deliver schemes.

Our client now has a requirement for an Electrical Project Engineer to join their Yorkshire based team.

Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer will play a key part in the projects construction / commissioning team and will be involved in a range of different projects from aiding design departments, Build & Operate projects, Plant Upgrades and Maintenance measures, Commissioning and project Handover within the water/wastewater industry.

Main duties:

• Report to the Project Engineer on site and work closely with him/ her to help drive the project through to successful completion, on time, within budget and to the highest standards as

• Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and capable of understanding drawings for construction and to co-ordinate between sub-contractors to ensure services fit.

• Review/Prepare method statements and risk assessments (with construction team) for production activities

• Managing/Co-ordinating of Sub-Contractors during install, testing and commissioning stages of the project including maintaining a daily Site Diary to ensure accurate notes of all on-site

• Ensure the undertaking of testing/commissioning is completed to company and client specifications and accurately documented.

• Provide assistance with regards to commissioning/set up of equipment where necessary.

• Be responsible for carrying out Quality Control checks through regular inspections and snagging inspection lists.

• Aid in the preparation of programs with Project Engineer. Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports. Produce look ahead programs to assist production.

• As built red lining of all electrical drawings and documentation for inclusion in the Operation & Maintenance Handover Manual.

• Prepare detail progress reports for submittal to the client on a monthly basis.

• Prepare detailed reports to tendering and design department to aid in design improvement and efficiency.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation on design changes and requests.

• Provide technical support to both internal and external customers.

Essential Criteria:

• Electrical trade with adequate experience or Degree Qualified Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 4 years minimum contracting experience in the Water/Wastewater industry or equal

• Possess a high attention to detail and ensure works are carried out with a Safety and Commercially orientated mind set.

• Experience in water and waste-water treatment plant design, construction and commissioning, with particular emphasis on electrical elements.

• Ability to read and review Electrical Schematics.

• Experience in the Energy Reduction systems within the Water/Wastewater industry would be an advantage.

• Ability to liaise with clients in both written and verbal format.

• Contract awareness.

• Previous experience/understanding of the following would be beneficial:

* Electrical Switchgear

* Conventional & Intelligent MCC's

* Industrial Control and Automation, PLC's, SCADA and Outstation Telemetry

* Motor Controllers, Motor Starters, VSD, Soft Start, DOL and other starter circuits.

* System Wiring, Relays, Circuit Breakers and hardwired logic controllers.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office
