the Head of I.T


Job Role
To enable our client to realize its vision, mission and strategic ambitions through the development and implementation of their Technology and Information Governance strategies.
Act as the driver for providing leading edge technological infrastructure to support the Coordination center, supporting various locations, homeworkers and pending satellite services to remain integrated and connected with health and social care partners for the benefit of patients, families and referrers.
Lead the technology team of staff and volunteers to achieve excellence in providing a secure, responsive service to their staff and services.
Be the Technical lead for Information Management and Technology, ensuring that the they have a secure, flexible, resilient infrastructure that has the capability to enable the delivery of trusted, reliable IT services to the right people, in the right place at the right time. This will be delivered by trained, skilled and motivated staff.
Assess emerging technologies for value and validity to the company and ensure that we have an effective utilisation of IT investment.
Manage project staff in the implementation of new solutions to enhance service delivery.

Main responsibilities
Work with the Director of People and Support Services to develop and manage the implementation and delivery of an effective IT and IG strategic plan to meet the organisational strategy and long term ambitions to deliver a modern high quality IT service.
Ensure the strategy provides solutions to identify and manage the full current scope and emerging cyber risks.
Develop a strategy and systems, working with the clients Head of Estates and HR teams to create a seamless experience for staff and volunteers which in turn enables effective service delivery.
Security and integrity of their technology and communication systems
Ensure strategies are continually reviewed and refreshed

Leadership and management
Be an active participant in the Operations team and be an advocate for the Technology function.
Lead role as Information Security Officer in line with ISO27001 and GDPR and Information Governance compliance requirements
Effective management of systems.
Provide effective and inspirational leadership to the Technology team.
Ensure that staff are deployed to work streams and work allocated has the appropriate resources to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Participate in any department on call Rota systems to ensure 24/7 cover
Performance management.
Contribute to and provide a comprehensive technological induction and support service for staff and volunteers.
Ensure all applications are managed within Standard operations procedures in line with best practice and appropriate disaster recovery plans are in place, written and regularly tested.
Ensure essential maintenance and upgrades are organized
Promote a good working relationship for staff and ensure staff are aware of their health and safety compliance as individuals as well as staff using IT equipment.

Budgets and Financial Performance
Create and achieve annual and three year budgets and expenditure targets utilizing the relevant finance systems and processes.

Governance and regulation
Take lead responsibility for cyber risk management/IG/GDPR compliance and develop and manage the processes to meet requirements reporting to Head of Compliance on a quarterly basis.
Provide quarterly performance

Person Specification and experience
Educated to degree level or equivalent. MCSE/ MCP desirable.
Evidence of creating and successful achievement
Experience of working in a senior management role
Evidence of creating and successful achievement of an organisational Technology and IG strategy.
Experience of successfully leading teams through significant organisational change
Experience of reporting to Governance committees and the management of an effective corporate IT and IG risk management framework.
Experience of successful project management.
Experience of procuring and managing technology and systems contracts.
Experience of managing and financial reporting against a significant budget and working with financial processes and business case development.

Personal Skills and Attributes
Demonstrate an understanding of existing and emerging GDPR, cyber and technological challenges and solutions.
Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of Information and Communications Technology, acquired through specialist training and experience.
Detailed Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory.
Detailed knowledge of Application Services on Windows 2003, 2008, 2012.
Experience writing succinct and clear business cases which also consider all financial aspects of the recommendations made.
Track record of operating and developing IT systems across multiple sites.
Experience of managing staff and understanding of information Governance including IT security, Freedom of Information and Data Protection.

Hours, salary and location
Monday - Friday 9:00am - 17:00pm, there will be an occasional need for weekend/evening cover
Salary range £38,000 - £50,000
West Midlands.
Travel to other sites as required - based locally
