As Project HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) Manager, you will be accountable for co-creating the Project HSE vision and strategy with the Project Leadership Team to deliver Goal Zero and Respect for People initiatives.

Equally as important, you will provide leadership of the HSSE functional support in line with the Project Management Framework (PMF) to ensure appropriate risk management solutions are implemented to deliver credible, competitive and affordable projects that deliver Goal Zero.

What's the role?

The Project HSSE Manager will motivate and manage a team of HSE professionals to ensure world-class coaching and delivery to the Project Team. Specific responsibilities include:

• Acting as Project HSSE&SP TA2
• Driving compliance with local HSSE regulations and the standards adopted by the Project (e.g. the Group HSSE control framework, other International standards & best practices)
• Identifying Project HSSE risks, implementing controls and monitoring their suitability/effectiveness
• Providing expertise to support the development, maintenance and implementation of Project HSSE Plans and procedures
• Providing expertise to support the development and implementation of HSE Cases
• Driving contractor HSSE Management in collaboration with EPC and/or fabrication contractors
• Delivering construction site safety during project execution in line with Shell HSSE Control Framework requirements
• Providing training and mentoring to less experienced/junior staff

Requirements:
What we need from you

We're keen to speak to talented individuals with deep knowledge of Project Delivery, with proven years of experience working on major projects. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, visible leadership in safety and inclusion, and at the same time, has had experience in offshore and onshore projects.

Equally as important, is your proven ability to master the following competencies:

• TAS2 level for HSSE&SP in projects
• Managing Safe Systems of Work
• Operational HSSE

You will also have the following skills:
• Demonstrated strategic thinking capability
• Ability to understand the underlying issues associated with incidents and to develop plans to ensure continuous improvement and focus is maintained
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills
• Proven problem-solving capability
• The ability to network effectively with a wide range of people at all levels in the organization
• Proven ability to communicate and contribute in open forum with management
• Experience managing, mentoring and developing multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to motivate and manage a diverse team across a breadth of activities, and lead by example

We expect you to have formal academic and professional qualifications in a technical, or HSSE related discipline - this can be a degree qualified with a Postgraduate and/or Professional qualification in HSSE.
