About the Department

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, part of the SSE group, owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising some 123,000 substations and 127,000km of overhead lines and underground cables, distributing electricity to 3.5 million homes and businesses in the North of Scotland and Southern England.

Our Commercial and Connections teams are the first point of contact for customers wishing to build a single home, housing development, industrial development, generation development or independent distribution network.

What is the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Administrator to join our System Support team based in Perth. The team is key to the smooth running and efficient management of our Connections business; you will be the first point of contact for requests for data corrections from our teams, managing queries promptly and escalating any urgent matters to colleagues, or to IT. You will also be responsible for ensuring our audit requirements are met in relation to granting access to our IT systems and you can expect to get involved testing minor IT changes to our project management system.

What do I need?

You'll need to have good attention to detail and organisational skills as you'll be carrying out various tasks daily to ensure the information in our systems is accurate. A good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes is a must, and the ability to pick up new systems and software will be of benefit.

A key part of the role is to ensure we are adhering to regulatory rules applicable to Connections so an ability to pick up procedures is essential. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about our business and gain hands on experience with our systems and projects.
