A very well-respected and well-recognised Cheltenham school is looking for an HR Manager to work term-time only (plus four weeks to be agreed mutually), 37 hours per week.

You will be working with the management team to devise, implement and monitor the school's strategy, leading all activities in order to best support the school in achieving its strategic objectives.

As an HR Manager, your duties will include:

Working with relevant teams to deliver the school's strategy.
Developing systems and key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy.
Working with the Senior Leadership Team to support all staff recruitment, including advertising, interviews and contracts.
Facilitating exit interviews with all departing members of staff, summarising the findings of these interviews and reporting them to the management team.
Managing the school's payroll and liaising as appropriate with all relevant payroll third parties, including but not limited to Inland Revenue, school pensions and trade unions.
Working with the relevant members of SLT, co-leading the performance management process for all teaching staff.
Retaining an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant employment legislation, statutory guidance, equality, diversity issues and best practice.
Monitoring levels of staff absence and reporting these to relevant members of the SLT.
Facilitating 'return to work' interviews, as per the school's Absence Management policy.
Supporting the SLT with any necessary communications relating to staff discipline and/or grievance.
Leading staff disciplinary and/or grievance meetings as appropriate and as outlined in the school's disciplinary policy and grievance policy.
Such duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post, or the level of responsibility entailed.

To be a successful HR Manager, you will have the following skills and experiences:

Relevant educational qualifications at school/college/university.
Relevant professional qualification (CIPD Level 5/7 or equivalent).
To be a chartered member of CIPD.
The ability to competently use Microsoft Office packages, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
The ability to competently use management information and database systems.
The ability to easily assimilate complex information and create reports.
The ability to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of a medium/long term plan designed to raise standards.
Sound knowledge of HR best practice.
Experience of maintaining accurate files and records and ensuring compliance with legislation.
In return for this managerial role, you will receive a salary of circa £40,000 - £46,000 per annum, pro-rata
