Electronics Lecturer required in Chatham, Kent.

This is a unique opportunity to join MKC Training Services (MKCTS) delivering engineering training to military students. Training is centred upon the historic and world famous Royal School of Military Engineering at Brompton near Chatham, Kent.

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer to join the Professional Engineering Wing (PEW) teaching primarily electronics up to foundation degree level, but also to include ICT (MS Office applications).

Teaching qualification not essential as this will be provided for suitable candidates coming from industry.

Trade level electronics is taught to specific trades within the school such as electricians and refrigeration engineers and fitters. Subjects taught include:

* Electronic components
* Rectification and power control
* Circuit construction and soldering
* Relays circuits and controls including PLCs

The successful applicant will be committed to teaching within a modern learning environment and making full use of the technologies and methods available. With small class sizes there is plenty of opportunity to develop a student centred and problem based learning environment.

Essential

* First degree in relevant subject area
* Teaching qualification or commitment to achieve recognised Level 5+ qualification e.g. DET / PGCE / PGCHE within 3 years of contract commencement
* Experience in teaching the relevant subject area, or clear demonstration of a strong potential to be able to teach the subjects during the interview process.

Highly Desirable

* PCB design and willingness to develop teaching aids and models
* Ability to teach MS office applications in an engineering context
* SET or HEA Membership
* Relevant professional qualification/membership

Desirable

* Experience of programming PLCs
* Experience of content development using Moodle
