This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, forward-thinking business, you will work with some of the best engineers in their field to produce outstanding engineered designs to customers worldwide! Our client is seeking an Engineering Production Manager for their state of the the art engineering facility, based in Derby.

As a technically minded engineer you will manage the machine shop as well as liaising with planning and design.

You as the new Engineering Production Manager will demonstrate the following:

• A good level of numeracy and literacy, educated to GCSE Level C or above, or equivalent

• Good computer skills to encompass Microsoft, Outlook, Delcam, Solid Works and FileMaker

• A time served Apprenticeship in Engineering or HNC/HND

• A good understanding of all Workshop machinery

• Ability to plan, organise and communicate tasks effectively to a team, leading by example

• Able to work as part of a team and off own initiative, demonstrating a confident and competent approach to decision making

• Have a positive attitude with a professional, patient and approachable personality

• Excellent communication, time management, leadership and employee development skills

• The ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload productively to meet deadlines

• The ability to lead, motivate and develop staff within the engineering production department, demonstrating a driven and results focused work ethic

Main responsibilities and Duties:

* Oversee the planning and organisation of the workshop production against production schedule.

* Oversee the managing of the costs and materials, labour and overheads in line with annual company budgets.

* To adopt good leadership principles to enable all employees within the team to realise their full potential and support continuous improvement.

* Identify Engineering KPl's and report to the Works and Engineering Director.

* Coordinate with all the relevant departments (design-office, machine-shop, electrical, PLC & control, purchasing and health & safety) to ensure that machines are built in accordance with the schedule resolving any issues within a timely manner.

* Provide creative and practical solutions to both technical and logistical problems.

* To maximise production outputs by effectively managing employee performance.

* To oversee workshop personnel, including performance reviews and motivate team members to identify objectives and development opportunities.

* To facilitate the development of an open and productive culture where people take pride and responsibility in what they do.

Competitive salary £40,000- £50,000 DOE
