The Opportunity

The Asset Management function is charged with the oversight of procedures, arrangements, data and supporting solutions to ensure the whole lifecycle of physical assets on site (as per ISO55000 objectives). Our current focus is the construction phase on the HPC project.

This role leads the establishment and ongoing improvement in arrangements, procedures, data and solutions delivery to ensure that inventory identification, quality and availability is ensured for the various phases of construction, commissioning and turn-over to Operations.

Experience of how inventory and cataloguing systems are established and controlled in highly regulated environments and for critical equipment is essential.

A sound understanding of modern supply chain and warehousing processes in required in conjunction with demand forecasting / work management and reservations of equipment inventory.

The ability to contribute to and influence a spares strategy on site to cater for the various phases of asset lifecycle, including provision of insurance and long lead-time items.

An Enterprise Asset Management system is being deployed on site and this role will provide significant inputs to the overall success of that deployment. This will require working closely with other parts of the project.

Training will be provided but prior working knowledge and experience of inventory management processes, procedures and systems would be an advantage.
The Person

  • Lead the development of inventory management processes and procedures to support the construction and erection of power plant equipment.
  • Establish the foundations of an equipment and commodities catalogue.
  • Support the development of spares strategy required to support construction, commissioning and operations of HPC.
  • Contribute to the necessary system interfaces /mapping between the selected Asset Management tool and other project systems being used by HPC and contract partners.
  • Ensure that necessary COSHH/ Material Data Sheets are introduced and maintained in alignment with regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that configuration of safety critical items in storage is managed accordingly.
  • Author arrangements, processes and workflows as required and represent Asset Management in workshops and meetings.
  • Support the development of electronic data transfer of asset information and the ongoing development of asset information requirement.
  • Support the development of an overall project materials management capability.
  • Work with Equipment Supply Chain to ensure consistency of equipment / material coding.
The Skills

  • Previous experiencing in leading the establishment of Inventory Management processes and procedures.
  • Integration of warehousing and inventory management in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of Procurement / Supply chain solutions - support vendor management, contracts.
  • Previous experience of the development of an appropriate spares procurement strategy.
  • Procurement Engineering - knowledge of technical requirements in inventory and supply chain.
  • Previous experience of using asset management systems to support the effective management of warehouses and equipment inventory.
  • Effective leadership capability and the ability to operate at a senior level and provide effective management reporting for a multi-million-pound equipment inventory.
  • Degree or higher qualification in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Previous Leadership experience in an associated professional area) for 5 years+.

  • Experience of working in a Nuclear Environment.
  • Awareness of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
  • Awareness of Construction Design Management requirements.
