Macildowie are currently representing a great client within the Nottinghamshire area who are recruiting for a great role within their expanding business within the Aerospace Industry.


My client is looking for an NPI Engineer to join their team, This will be a new role within the business that will need someone to work in various sides of new product development including M/E, Product Development, Customer facing and Project Management.
A successful candidate will have various responsibilities within this role including:
Responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating customers new product introduction to the business to ensure a smooth delivery from cradle to grave.
Support New Product Introduction by ensuring the correct procedures are followed through the development and release to production to meet all aspects of cost, manufacturability, process capability, delivery etc for successful launch.
Develop and implement a robust NPI process.
Oversee defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements.
Conform to overall quality control of the work and report regularly on project status.
Support customer meetings / discussions.
Cooperate and communicate effectively with department managers.
Ensure the highest quality throughout, minimise teething issues and faults through formal root-cause-analysis investigations and failure analyses.
Develop, oversee and seek continuous improvement of the NPI process e.g conducting lessons learnt workshops.
Prepare reports with observations and recommendations regarding existing or required machinery.
Identify and drive efficient production, tooling and programming methods to ensure successful product delivery.


A successful candidate will have the following experience:

Time served Engineer from an Aerospace background who fully understands all of the stage processors required to manufacture Airframe and Engine details.
Minimum qualification HND.
Must have minimum 3-years proven experience in managing medium to complex NPI projects from start to finish.
Good leadership skills.
Must be able to communicate at all levels within the business.
Customer focused.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate sufficient project management experience and organizational skills. they will have experience using CAM and ability to understand and communicate technical data and specifications. You will be conversant with the NPI techniques, requirements and processes.
Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements. A successful candidate will also have knowledge of working to AS9100 / EASA Part 21 (G) standards (ideal).
